What does playing hockey, riding a bicycle and chopping trees have in common? All of them are part of Wayne Goss’s repertoire of talents. It’s not surprising that Goss, a Smithers BC resident for many years, has the same qualities as his country brethren. But it’s what he does with a bike that has captured the eyes of the freeride community and Cannondale’s attention.
His new teammate, long-time Cannondale rider Aaron Chase, said that Wayne is one those riders who can do anything he puts his mind to. He’s a creative and open-minded rider who isn’t afraid to try new things. Wayne’s imagination and the crack through a tree are what brought him to the forefront of attention in the New World Disorder video.
His riding is supported by his community. Wayne and his friends were allowed to convert an old barn into an indoor riding area by a local farmer. The lumber was provided by a local mill. He can also continue to improve his skills during inclement weather and winter months. Wayne will be using a new fleet Cannondale machinery.
Wayne says that I couldn’t be happier to ride with Cannondale. Aaron has been a friend for a while and he always talks about how Cannondale listens to him and includes him in the testing and development. I’ve seen it all firsthand and couldn’t be happier with the ride I have.
Wayne is best known as a street and park rider but he plans to use his 66 cm wheels for launching and going downhill. Cannondale Chase will be the Lumberjack’s ride, designed to suit his needs for dirt jumping and urban assaults. Wayne will also be riding a Prophet MX or Judge DH for big mountain riding and hit riding.
