Method 1 Rinsing After Retrieving
1. Get a pair of rubber gloves

You can then coat the cotton ball in isopropyl alcohol by removing the cap and dipping the ball in alcohol.
Keep it in place for a few seconds to allow the alcohol to soak into the fibers. You can get rid of excess alcohol by shaking the cotton ball several times. Don’t let the cotton ball get wet. Alcohol could leak out and get into the electronics.

Method 4 Boil the Item

The first step in boiling is to find a large enough pot for your item. This method is not recommended for items that aren’t sturdy enough. Once you have selected the perfect pot, heat the water on medium-high heat. Wait for it to simmer. When the water temperature is at the right level, you can place the infected object into the pot.

Next, use a strainer/tongs to lower the infected item into boiling water. You can place the item in boiling water for up to 20 minutes. Boiling water will kill all bacteria and microbes attached to the item due to its high temperature. Once all microbial bugs have been eliminated, you can now take the disinfected item from the water and shake it around a bit.
Wrap the item in a clean, dry towel and allow it to air dry. If your item has a cover, or lid, you should leave it off to allow airflow to get in and prevent mildew from forming.
